1. What are factors that make the workplace eligible for this program?

Almost any workplace is eligible. The only factors would be size and space.

Size: Any company where about 10 employees would be interested in taking classes. This means
the company could have 30 to 1,000 employees.
Space: We can hold classes in any conference room with the furniture pushed to the side, any extra
room, or gym. During on-site visits by Devi Yoga, we evaluate whether the space is appropriate.

2. Can I wear my work clothes or do I have to change?

Loose fitting clothing will always be more comfortable in a yoga class, but there are many postures
that you can do in regular work clothes. This decision can be made in conjunction with the
participants when classes begin.

3. Do I need to be flexible to start?

Not at all!! Every posture can be modified for any body type! We will rotate and stretch the joints. We
will strengthen the lower back for improved posture. And we will move the spine to increase spinal
flexibility.

4. What’s the benefit of doing yoga at work? My gym offers it.

Often the hardest part of beginning a new class or activity is fitting into our busy schedules and
remembering to keep practicing. With lessons brought right to the workplace, yoga is accessible to
you at the end of a busy day. You don’t need any equipment (we provide mats). Also you will learn
how certain postures help directly combat the physical and mental stress that you feel in your job
during the day. You will also have personal contact with the teacher and the teacher will always
correct you if they see you doing something out of alignment.

5. How does yoga help to reduce stress?

Movements are slow, low impact, and over time build to increase in intensity. They facilitate a calm
mind as our focus will be on the breath and creating awareness of the body. Acceptance of the
body's limitations and those encountered in life is a value that we teach. We help individuals let go
of what they cannot change which may correspond to their body or their life outside of their yoga
practice.

6. How is yoga different from exercise at a gym?

With no equipment necessary (mats are always optional) it is easy to do yoga anywhere. Your heart
rate may not increase dramatically, making yoga a great practice for people who suffer from heart
problems. Yet it still efficiently delivers oxygen throughout the body's muscles and tissues with a
focus on deep diaphragm breathing. It is low-impact so any body type can do it and it is a
rehabilitating exercise for people with health problems. It increases flexibility, tones and lengthens
muscles, rather than tightening and strengthening.

7. Do we need to sign up for a minimum amount of classes?

Yes, we ask for a commitment of at least 8 classes. Yoga is most effective when practiced regularly.

8. If we need to cancel the yoga classes, how many days notice do we need to give you?

Please give one week’s notice.

9. How do we know that this program is beneficial for employees?

At the end of each class we will allow employees to give their feedback, ask questions, and discuss
anything we learned.

10. What are the time options available?

Anytime is possible: before work, during lunch hours, or after work.

11. What kind of equipment is necessary?

Only a mat and loose clothing. You need not purchase a mat because Devi Yoga will provide them.
If you would like to purchase one, they are for sale with Devi Yoga at $12 and they come with a
holder to easily carry the mat.

12. What companies currently use yoga at work?

Lexmark, IBM, Intel, United, GE, Microsoft, HBO, Nike, AT&T, Apple, Bristol-Myers, US Marines, and
Pepsico.

13. How much would it cost for 10 people to attend a yoga class twice a week?

Please call Devi Yoga for a quote. Depending on the frequency of classes and length of the contract
different options are available. And either employees or employers can pay for the classes.
